We need to talk about real shit. About self-actualization, about open relationships, about surviving the apocalypse. About the best way to cook eggs and how you take your coffee.

We need to talk about home, and community, and whatever art is. We need to talk about pets, about kids, about aliens. About anxiety and sex toys as self-care. About lucid dreaming and our inner child.

We need to talk about us — dreamers, doers, modern humans. About our projects and our failures. About our grief, about our ancestors, about that thing we keep avoiding and what keeps us going. We need to talk about what the fuck is going on.

We need to talk to get out of our bubbles, to get out of our heads, to get out of our comfort zones.

We need to talk to discover our boundaries. To practice that foreign language. To finally tell that joke.

We need to talk to inspire each other, to provoke each other, to disillusion each other.

We need to talk to work things out, to create that bond, to let go. To see if it’s worth it.

We need to talk because we’re curious. Because we’re lonely. Because we are mysteries unto ourselves.

We need to talk because talk is not cheap. Because the silence is awkward (or is it?). Because we have a lot to say and nothing to lose.

We need to talk because we’re here. Because we’re more connected than we think.

Because talking is living in the moment.

We need to talk. Over breakfast.
